Dr. Jennifer Howard

Dr. Jennifer Howard was born in Ajax Ontario, a rural town near Toronto, in Canada. In 1995, she graduated from Bishops University in Lennoxville Quebec, and in 2003 she graduated from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine. As a child, her devotion to animals developed through the love of her family pets, and she often tried to sneak stray dogs into the house for love and TLC without her parents noticing! She had dogs, birds, rabbits, and fish as a young child, and by the age of 10 started working towards saving for her first horse by selling lemonade on the curb in front of her house.

Dr. Howard has experience working in both large (equine) and small animal medicine. In 2010 Boulevard Animal Hospital was created, fulfilling a life long dream to serve the patients and owners of her local community. She has directed its’ growth into a modern facility for routine care, medical, surgical and dental treatment, and is excited to offer x-ray and imaging diagnostics, emergency medicine and critical care, and behavioral consultations.

Dr. Howard lives just outside of Athens, GA with her family that includes her husband, two fantastic children, two affectionate dogs, two beautiful kittens, a little coop of chickens, and a couple too many horses! She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, VIN, and is a 2004 graduate of the Chi Institute in Reddick Florida. In addition to general practice her interests include dentistry, complementary medicine, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, ultrasonic imaging, and behavioral consultations.

When Dr. Howard is not busy at work she is an occasional equestrian who adores time with her family and friends, loves walking, gardening, reading, music, and generally being out of doors.
