Eva Glasgow

Practice Manager/Veterinary Nurse

Eva has a BA degree in Literature and a minor in Gender Studies from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA. She’s worked in veterinary medicine for 23 years and joined the team in 2012! Her first job out of high school was working in the kennel at a veterinary hospital. Eva continued learning from many wise and patient veterinary technicians and veterinarians over the years!

As a child, Eva fell in love with all kinds of animals while playing in the woods of North Carolina. She felt a kinship with the owls, lizards, songbirds, turtles, snakes, deer, and, of course, the neighborhood cats and dogs! Her first experience with caring for animals was nursing an injured wild rabbit back to health after her cat brought it home. Eva’s favorite thing about working with animals is finding ways to communicate with them despite our different forms of language. Eva wants to offer comfort when they are ill or injured, and care for them until they are better. Most of all, Eva loves to witness the human-animal bond with people and their companions. Eva studied a different subject in college and thought she would follow an academic route in teaching. When she stepped away from veterinary medicine, she quickly realized that no other field would offer the sense of reward and overall satisfaction she feels every day working with animals.

Outside of work, Eva’s family includes her amazing husband and 2 two brilliant children! She also has two adorable and snuggly cats, Dumbledore and Apple. In her free time, she loves to spend hours outside in the sunshine. She also loves reading, hiking, road trips, music, and art!

Andrew Feddersen

Veterinary Technician

Andrew is from Marietta, Georgia, went to Wheeler High School and is currently a pre-vet student at the University of Georgia. Going to school here is what brought him to Athens in May of 2022! Andrew started working in the veterinary field to gain experience for vet school, with the end goal of being a veterinarian. His favorite part about working with animals is the problem-solving and critical thinking side of things- it’s so fulfilling to know you helped someone’s best friend and pet become healthy again! “I knew I was in the right profession when my parents found a picture from my elementary school career day that displayed me working as a veterinarian”!

Outside of work, Andrew’s immediate family includes his dad and stepmom who live back home in Marietta, Georgia. He also loves to play guitar, spend time with friends, and go to the Georgia Aquarium!

Shelby Self

Veterinary Technician

Shelby Self is a skilled veterinary technician who has gained extensive knowledge and experience in the field. Shelby was born and raised in Gwinnett County and moved to Athens in 2016, where she has been living ever since.

Shelby’s passion for animals started at a young age, and she has been raising and working with animals throughout her life. Her experience includes working in boarding facilities, as well as a local animal shelter. Her love for animals and desire to help them inspired her to pursue a career in the veterinary industry.

Shelby’s favorite thing about working with animals is being able to provide them with care and comfort during times of illness. She takes pride in her ability to help animals recover and feel better. When she is not working, Shelby enjoys spending time with her pets and exploring the outdoors.

Chandler Hughes

Veterinary Technician

Chandler is a dedicated veterinary technician at Boulevard Animal Hospital. She joined the team in January of 2022, after graduating from the University of Georgia with a BSA in Animal Science. Chandler was born and raised in Austin, Texas, but fell in love with Athens during her time at UGA.

Chandler’s passion for working with animals dates back to her childhood, where she spent countless hours volunteering at local animal shelters and participating in dog training camps and clubs. Her dream of becoming a veterinarian led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Veterinary Public Health, which she will begin in Fall 2023 through Utah State University.

When she’s not at Boulevard, Chandler enjoys spending time with her cat Louie, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, skiing, and traveling. She hopes to one day live out west and practice small animal medicine while owning three Labrador Retrievers – one of each color!

Audrey Utley

Veterinary Technician

Audrey Utley is one of our many wonderful Veterinary Technician’s. She began working at the hospital in September 2021. Audrey grew up outside of Athens and graduated from the University of Georgia in 2021.

Audrey’s love for animals and her experience in the equine community led her to the veterinary industry. She spent two years at UGA working with a research lab using swine, which further drove her passion to expand her skills and knowledge in small animals. Her favorite thing about working with animals is being able to help them when they are sick or injured, and seeing them recover and go back to their loving homes.

Outside of work, Audrey likes to spend her time outdoors, either at the barn or on a tennis court. She has a dog named Boba who enjoys these activities with her. Audrey’s passion for animals extends beyond her work at Boulevard Animal Hospital, and she enjoys spending time with her furry companion and engaging in activities that allow her to connect with animals in nature.

Jamie Wade

Receptionist

Jamie was born here in Athens, raised next door in Madison County. He currently lives in Danielsville with his amazing partner Matthew, their two dogs Allie and Gemini, and two cats Cher and Maui! Jamie previously worked odd jobs in retail and customer service before Dr. Howard gave him the great opportunity at a more fulfilling career path. He never expected to end up in the veterinary field but has been very grateful that this is where he’s at.

Working with animals is the best part of the job, getting to see how happy they are when they come in always makes Jamie smile. Bambi (pictured with Jamie) gets to come in every day and work in the front office with us which makes work so much more enjoyable! Jamie comes from a great family who are all animal lovers and always had dogs in the house growing up.

Outside of work, Jamie enjoys exercising and spending time with family. Jamie is trying to get more active outdoors and hopes to take up hiking and camping regularly!
